Due to a busy schedule he was unable to meet the Mayor this time. He was also unable to meet SWAT because the had been called out. He will be continuing treatment, it has just been postponed a week due to his low platelets. And lastly he gets treatments at Childrens Medical Center in Dallas. It was a hectic day and I wish I had been able to clarify in time for your story. We are truely grateful for the men & women of the DPD. They are caring and wonderful people that deserve respect. They are doing their best to protect and serve the city. There are bound to be incidents that are not what we like to see, but for every one of those there are hundreds of good deeds and amazing stories that don't make it to print. I am glad that our family's story did. When I thank the Officers the response I always get is "we are just doing our job" to me what they did for us was above and beyond their job and their humble reply is that of true heros. A vanpool participant shares the expense of the commute (car, gasoline, parking) among all other participants (6 to 15), thus saving hundreds of $$$. This is an alternative that can drop you in the front of your workplace saving $. Check the web for available vanpools. This makes more sense that the tailgating, messing with the radiator of your car, or riding the hot Texas summer with no AC. Plus you help to achieve cleaner air.
